The CW02 is made with genuine Tochigi leather. Each wallet is sewn one by one by leather craftsmen in a domestic atelier renowned for its reliable technique and meticulous finishing. We chose Tochigi leather out of a desire to create a wallet that is not only gentle on the user but also gentle on the planet. Specifically, we use "piano leather" (a thin, supple oil leather) made only from domestically raised cattle. This is 83D's original leather, which intentionally uses the flesh side (the side of the leather not typically used for the exterior). Craftsmen carefully treat the surface of each piece, resulting in a wallet with a unique luster and a moist texture reminiscent of oiled cotton. With its delicate, washi paper-like texture, this expressive wallet develops a deep, rich character with age, allowing you to enjoy it for years to come. In pursuit of a functional and beautiful design, we carefully re-examined the user's process and specifically envisioned usage scenarios. The layout is designed from the user's perspective—providing immediate access to frequently used credit cards, followed by bills, and then coins—achieving not only compactness but also smooth usability. The custom-made, slim-profile brass clasp creates an elegant impression that isn't overly minimalist. This is a wallet that fulfills those selfish desires: to travel light, to carry the necessary cash and cards securely, to not ruin the silhouette of your clothes when it's in your pocket, and to avoid fumbling when you use it. The CW02 is equipped with a "skimming prevention function (RFID blocking function)" for peace of mind in crowds or while traveling abroad. (The RFID blocking function is integrated into only a portion of the wallet.) Due to the surface color of each piece of leather being finished individually, slight irregularities, and variations in shade may occur. As the metal parts are machined from brass material, slight variations in size may occur. Storing in hot and humid environments may cause rust on metal parts, or discoloration, deformation, or stickiness of the leather fabric. The areas around the metal hardware will develop a slight sheen from contact with the fabric during use. ◆ About Tochigi Leather Founded in 1937, Tochigi Leather is a company that handles the entire process from sourcing hides to tanning in-house. It is a tannery that remains committed to 100% vegetable tannin tanning to bring out the natural texture of the leather. They show thorough consideration for the environment by not using any components that emit harmful substances in the tanning process, filtering the used water through a large-scale wastewater treatment facility before returning it to the river, and never killing cattle just for leather, instead only using those from meat processing. Through the trial and error and accumulated skill of their craftsmen, they create products that are gentle on people and the environment while achieving a supple and soft texture. ◆ About the RFID blocking function This is a function that prevents skimming, the act of reading credit card information using radio wave reflection. You can use it with peace of mind in crowded places or on packed trains. ◆ About the Packaging This is our original packaging, which not only protects the product on its way to your home but also enhances the moment you meet the product upon opening the box.
