The pale, deep colors are born from the exclusive use of local materials. While cherishing these materials and traditions, we have crafted a teacup with a design that is perfect for everyday, casual use. The clay is sourced by digging up local earth, and the glazes are made from the trees and plants found in the region. This commitment to local resources gives Sansuke-yaki its characteristic simple, rustic, and profound charm. Bernard Leach, the renowned British potter who later established the LEACH POTTERY in St Ives with a Japanese-style noborigama climbing kiln, visited this area.
